The F-84 Thunderjet entered service in 1947 and this kit depicts the F-84 variant which saw extensive action during the Korean War in the ground-attack role. The simple, straight-winged design that was characteristic of early jets has been accurately reproduced. The maintenance panel on the upper side of the nose may be assembled in open position to reveal the machine gun armament and the wingtip fuel tanks may also be left off. Flaps and airbrakes may be assembled in open or closed positions. Parts for 500 pound bombs, drop tanks, and RATO packs, together with a pilot and three marking options, are also included.
