This media has a porous high surface area, making it ideal for binding phosphate, silicate, arsenic, and other water-staining compounds. This product is designed for use in an up-flow media reactor with a flow rate capable of approximately 100 gph. GFO is also suitable for passive use in a fine filter bag or media basket. Rinse media before use until water runs clear. Initial Starting Dose: 1 tablespoon/10 gallons. Maintenance Dose: 2 tablespoons/10 gallons. It is recommended to change filter media when phosphate levels begin to rise, typically every 4-6 weeks.
