The OEMTOOLS 3/8" Drive 10-80 ft-lb Torque Wrench is an easy-to-use click-style torque wrench suitable for many automotive and motorcycle repairs—including low torque engine and brake repairs. To use, simply set the desired torque and ratcheting direction, and tighten fasteners until the wrench produces an audible click. You should not use the torque wrench as a breaker bar, as this can cause your wrench to become uncalibrated. Properly torquing fasteners is a safety issue. It’s a common misconception that over torquing a fastener makes it less likely to loosen. In fact, this puts additional stress on your fastener and makes it more likely to fatigue. Both over and under torquing and over torquing increase the chance of fastener loosening and fastener damage. The best way to keep fasteners from loosening from vibration is to ensure you tighten each fastener to the manufacturer’s specifications and use Loctite, or something similar.
